My Blurb

Since so many have emailed me asking what the book that sold is about, here's the blurb to Bayou Burning, as it stands right now:

Deep in the “boot” of Louisiana, Cajun country, an alligator environmentalist, CoCo LeBlanc, finds a body in the bayou. A body which just happens to be the grandfather of her ex-boyfriend, Luc Trahan. When she and her family are prime suspects in the murder, CoCo pushes aside her personal problems with Luc to find the real killer. Among multiple suspects, voodoo, and a long-standing family vendetta, CoCo and Luc must work together to prove their innocence. . .before the real murderer reveals himself and becomes a threat to them.

Congrats! I like your new name too. Cool! Has staying power. (Cynclair always sort of threw me...reminded me of cyanide. :) )

man that sounds like a great book! I can't wait to read it!

Oh wait...

I HAVE read it and it is a GREAT book! :o)

LOL...the CYNCLAIR was a combination of my sisters names...CYNthina and CLAIRe. LOL But Caroll is my middle name, as it's also my mother's and my oldest daughter's middle name, so it's still a nod at my family.

Heather, you crack me up!

Way to go, Miller girl! (I understand totally about the pen name--tough to figure that out.) I love the pen name and I love the premise/blurb to the book. I can't wait to read it--I'm a subscriber to that line.

I have been blessed to watch my wife make her start in this industry, which I have to admit is a tough profession that has my utmost respect. To those writers that have taken their manuscripts and rushed to the trash can like a fullback to the goal line and slammed it in the trash with the authority of Michael Jordan and say “ I quit!”. Instead of blood, sweat and tears, it is worn out keyboards, honing your craft with each story, and hundreds of dollars of white chocolate mochas. You have to surround yourself with a great mentor, understanding critique partners, a good agent, supportive family members, and lots of prayer. You must keep your focus on the Sovereign with the concentration of a tightrope walker with each and every step. You know this profession is tough when you can go from darling wife to a seasoned drill instructor with just one rejection letter or watch your spouse stare at their email inbox scared to open an anticipated email. I am here to tell you …it is all worth it when that one phone call comes. I am proud of my wife, not for reaching her life long goal but because of her willingness to stick with it, studying her craft, honing her skills, and most of all…the friends that she has now made our family. I Love you Rob……Love always….Me.

Awww, babe.....thank you. Couldn't do any of it without you, and you KNOW that's the truth! Love Always, ME

Okay, who deleted my original post to this?? :-D Anyway--awesome blurb, Robin!!

Awwww, how sweet of Casey to post that. Wow, what a hubby! And he's so right--keep our eyes on the Sovereign. :-D

sniff! sniff! What a sweet post from your dh.

Girls, Robin wouldn't even talk to me the other night b/c she said her hubby needed her...????....:)

Again, I'm so thrilled you sold! Couldn't happen to a better person or at a better time!

You're so right, Case! It's tough to stick it out, but she did it! I'm so proud of her--and of you for being her encourager and telling her she can do it. Without supportive husbands like you it's even harder. You're going to make the great spouse of a writer. LOL

Get ready to have those books lined up on your desk so you can sell them to everyone who comes in your office!

LOL, Colleen. Casey can add bookseller to his resumé. Very cool!

What a wonderful ode to your wife, Casey. Just a testament to how supportive and loving YOU are. You two are an inspiring couple, let me tell ya!

I know Robin has impacted my writing and personal life tremendously. I'm so proud and priviledged to call her friend.

WHAT? Who inhabited his body? I want my KC back-waaaah! Ya know I love ya more'n my luggage Case. Heck, ya even bought me dinner the other night-you wouldn't have done that in the old days-LOL! Ya cheapskate...I like this new guy.

What a sweet testament to our girl. I told her she certainly deserves this and so do you. It is great you have been so supportive even though I'm sure you would have liked to slam dunk a manuscript or two yourself.

Rob,I could not be more proud of you had this been my own baby. Matter of fact I just stopped crying a few minutes ago-LOL! Sweetie, I am just so thrilled-let me know when to set up your signings here-give me a little notice though. Busy, busy girl I am learning my new craft so when you make it all famous you can hire me to travel with you and do your facials and stress relieving. Well, actually I'll just do that for free since I love ya! However, I will charge you to straighten that rat's nest you call hair-LOVE YOU SISTER OF MY SOUL!

Awww, sounds like a great book.

And what a sweetheart husband you are Casey! (Could you give my hubby a few tips about being more supportive?)

Well, since we were crit partners, her writing rocked even then and she has worked hard to fine tune it, and knowing Robin, she will not stop learning, but keep getting better and better.

I call DIBS on reviewing this book on our site! Teehee!

Love ya, girl! (and give Casey a hug just for being so wonderful.)

I love your new pen name. I'm glad you went with Caroll. Also, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who thought of cyanide with Cynclair, lol.

That was really sweet of Casey--what he said in here.

Can't wait to critique your next book. Congrat's again. Keep it up!
