Moodoo

I've gotten lots of emails and cards from you readers who've asked where I came up with the name Moodoo for CoCo's alligator. It's cajun and means "cursed." I just really liked the name. In fact, when my husband got me my Catahoula/lab mix puppy just before Christmas, I named him Moodoo. This is his picture. Isn't he a doll? And stay tuned...in book 5, Bayou Betrayal, releasing in January 2009, there will be a catahoula, so you'll find out details of this Louisiana-based breed of dog!

That's one Catahoula that's actually cute. Sorry, I'm in the camp that thinks Catahoulas are some of the ugliest dogs alive! Followed by Australian shepherds.

I grew up in Concordia parish. The neighboring parish was Catahoula. The new bridge over the Black River at Jonesville was a bridge to nowhere for years, the state couldn't get the land to build the approaches!

Isn't my baby getting big????

Rachel, most "purebred" catahoula dogs aren't the most beautiful, but they are so smart and will work hard to make their owners happy. I think my Moodoo, because of the lab mixed in, makes him the perfect pet! He's a sweetie!
