I remember all too well the feeling of "friends" I thought were really friends turning out to be the ones who couldn't even be bothered to pick up the phone. Our immediate family was there for us, blessfully so, but it made me realize who our real friends are.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06507129192655971640noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18167767.post-14991885871145267312012-08-10T19:36:50.014-05:002012-08-10T19:36:50.014-05:00When I started having a struggle with my health, R...When I started having a struggle with my health, Robin, I thought that the ones that I had done so many favors for over the years, even to lending an ear when they needed someone to confide in, or had done the most for, weren't there for me at all. And the ones that I didn't expect to, have rallied around me. It's almost like their attitude is well, you can't do what I want you to now, so I won't visit you, text you, or call you. I'm glad it doesn't make me bitter (b/c God has put the people that I need the most in my life right now), but I can't say it hasn't hurt. Many tears have been shed on my pillow at night, but not anymore. God knows who's best for me at this point in my life and I'm so blessed!Diana Flowershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17127629740742628849noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18167767.post-49573671225287649952012-08-10T17:57:50.084-05:002012-08-10T17:57:50.084-05:00I went through a season like this two years ago, R...I went through a season like this two years ago, Robin. We found out who would really be there during the hard times. And we found out who the fair weather ones were. You don't forget that, do you? Michael Hyatt's recent post about priorities kind of hit my reset button, reminding me of that difficult time. Today I had lunch with my BFF, a breast cancer survivor. When she became ill, after the horrible year I had, I wanted to make sure that I rose to the occasion as a friend and didn't flake out like so many did for me. Under pressure we reveal our true colors. Some aren't pretty. Some were fabulous!Carrie Fancett Pagelshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09096954464239963966noreply@blogger.com
