Contest

To celebrate the release of DELIVER US FROM EVIL, I'm hosting some contests over the next few weeks. These contests will run on this blog, the DELIVER US FROM EVIL fan page on Facebook, and on my website. No purchase is necessary to enter, and is open to everyone in the United States, unless where voided by law. Winners will be drawn at random to all who enter. The winner of this week's contest will receive a brown, duotone simulated leather The Apologetics Study Bible.

In Deliver Us From Evil, part of Brannon and Lincoln's unique friendship was the way they "quizzed" each other on Scripture. To enter this contest, which will run from Sunday, March 7, 2010 through Monday, March 15, 2010, leave a comment stating your favorite Scripture and why.

For a bonus entry, tell me why Brannon and Lincoln quiz each other on Scripture. (Hint: Chapter 13)

For another bonus entry, state my favorite Scripture. (Hint: check out the main page of my website)

Hi Robin -
I would have to say Romans 8:28 is my favorite:
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,who have been called according to his purpose.
Your favorite is Philippians 4:13:
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
That is also one of my favorite! My husband Fred & I participate in marathons. We are involved with a ministry called Team 413 (www.team413.org). They sell t-shirts with Philippians 4:13 on the back. I can't tell you what an encouragement it is to see that at Mile 20!
Blessings -

Hi, Robin,
Congrats on your new release!

I consider this my life scripture: "Bless the Lord, oh my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name!" (Psalm 103:1 NKJV) LOVE the entire psalm.

Without a doubt, it's Gal 2:20:

I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave His life for me.

Hi Robin,

Fave scripture is Micah 6:8..."He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." So applicable!

Best regards, Eric Putman

Brannon and Lincoln quiz each other because it keeps them focused on what is really important in this life and it comforts them.

Please enter me for the Apologetics Bible. Sounds terrific!

Hi Robin-
One of my favorite verses is I John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." It gives me peace to know when I sin, and I do, if I will confess that sin to the Lord, He is faithful and just and He will cleanse me from all unrighteousness. I think that verse is there just for me because He knew I would sin, even though I don't want to (Romans 7:12-25) Which brings me to my second favorite Romans 8:1. But that's for another time....
Your favorite is Phil 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
Thank you and God bless you!

Hi Robin,
My favorite scripture would have to be: Matthew 7:7 - Ask, and it shall be given you: seek, and ye shall find: knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
The three imperatives Ask, seek, knock forms the acrostic ASK. This is everything that we actually need for spiritual success with the Lord because it has been promised to us. He tells us that it shall be opened unto us.

Psalm 37 4 delight thyself also in the Lord and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

this is my favorite because who likes better than to get a gift. I find that delighting in God is a gift in itself, but I like this scripture because I always had a longing to be married and this is the scripture that God always gives me.

I haven't read your book yet. I must get it to read it.
your favorite scripture is Phillipians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

I forgot to put my email, so sorry

My favorite is 1 Thes. 5:5
"Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness."

I enjoy contrasts of light and dark. We are to shine as His image bearers and dispell the darkness of this world.

To battle! :D

This Scripture guides my writing and my life:

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your path.

Hi Robin,
As an HHS alumni, this is a kick for me to enter. :) I think this prize would be something outstanding for my daughter to have! Here is my favorite scripture:
John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotton Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life."
It is my favorite, because it IS the Christian faith in one line. :)

Your favorite scripture is Philippians 4:13 - "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." (I can't tell you how many home repairs I've made speaking that very scripture to whatever task I was attempting!! LOL!! I WAS always triumphant!! :D)

Continued Blessings Upon You!
